Managing Diversity

Workplace diversity is a situation when there are different people in a workplace. Workplace diversity is very important. When there is diversity, theres a chance we get more skill from various people. By this our company can work easier and more efficient. Every employee effect other employee, their quality for problem solving will increase. Not only that, because our employee is different form each other, there is a chance we get a diverse market too that is caused by the employee Network.

Workplace diversity make some country to growth in their population too. There are different type of diversity. For example gender, race, Physical appearance and religion. By these diversity, there are some challenges to manage workplace diversity. Some belief and ideology can lead the organization to a chaos. Some diversity like race can lead into prejudice. There are two main challenge that manager face. The first one is Personal bias. It gives prejudge to other individual. The second one is glass ceiling. It refers to the invisible barrier that separate minorities and women from top management position.

There are initiative that we can do to the organization, we can give mentoring from the experience employee to the less experience employee. We can give them training as well.

So managing diversity in the workplace is very important. We need to learn how to manage them so that all of our work will be more efficient and the employee will be at peace.
